Mohs surgery is a state-of-the-art in-office procedure used to treat skin cancer. It has cure rates approaching 99% for tumors that haven't been previously treated. The procedure uses precision and accuracy by examining tissues under a microscope to ensure total skin cancer removal.
Mohs surgery minimizes the removal of healthy skin, meaning the smallest amount of skin possible is removed, decreasing the potential for scarring in patients. Treatment time is only one visit, allowing for immediate reconstruction of the wound. Mohs surgery is typically used to treat basal and squamous cell carcinomas.
