Albert Malvehy, MD, RVT, dABVLM, one of the few physicians in the country who devotes his practice exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of vein disease. Our East Bay office cares for patients across the Bay Area, from San Jose to Monterey, the wine country and inland to Modesto.
From varicose veins, venous insufficiency and leg pain to spider veins and bulging hand veins, every consultation, ultrasound and treatment is performed by Dr. Malvehy himself — no surgery, no stripping and no downtime. Dr. Malvehy is certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, one of fewer than 700 physicians in the US and Canada to hold that certification, and is certified in ultrasound as both a Registered Vascular Technologist and a Registered Phlebology Sonographer. He performs his own ultrasound examination at every first visit, so the source of the problem is found and a customized treatment plan is built and explained in that same appointment. Treatments combine laser vein treatment, sclerotherapy, foam sclerotherapy and ultrasound guidance, and he offers revision and corrective treatment for patients whose previous ablations, stripping or sclerotherapy did not succeed. Dr. Malvehy and his staff speak English and Spanish.
