Bruce D. Bauer, MD, is an experienced dermatologist dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care, with a particular interest in complex medical dermatology. He provides exclusively medical dermatology care, with a focus on skin cancer and complex medical dermatology concerns.

Dr. Bauer earned his Doctor of Medicine from Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) and completed his dermatology residency at Marshfield Clinic, where he served as Chief Resident. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Bauer spent several years as a middle and high school science teacher in California, an experience that helped shape his ability to explain complex topics clearly and connect with patients. He later served as community faculty at EVMS and continues to enjoy teaching and sharing his knowledge with others.

Dr. Bauer has contributed to dermatology research and education through publications and presentations on topics including dermatologic treatments, sunscreen safety, seborrheic dermatitis, dermatology residency training, and monitoring for potential side effects in patients taking high-risk medications, including the use of noninvasive liver fibrosis assessment.

Dr. Bauer is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. After 20 years on the East Coast, he is excited to return to the West Coast to be closer to family.
