Matthew Scholl, MD, is a dermatologist who provides evidence-based, compassionate care for patients of all ages. His clinical interests include acne, psoriasis, skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, injectable neuromodulators such as Botox® and Dysport®, and laser treatments.

Dr. Scholl’s interest in dermatology began at an early age as he watched his mother undergo treatment for numerous skin cancers and several Mohs procedures. He was especially inspired by the compassion her dermatologist showed while guiding her through biopsies, diagnoses, and treatments. The experience taught him that while a procedure may be routine for a physician, it can be deeply significant for the patient.

Dr. Scholl earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University before earning his medical degree from the John Sealy School of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). He completed a transitional year at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood followed by his dermatology residency at UTMB, where he served as Chief Resident of Departmental Didactics.

During his training, Dr. Scholl was particularly proud of his work advocating for and treating incarcerated patients through the Texas Department of Criminal Justice at Hospital Galveston, a referral center providing dermatologic care for patients from across the state.

Dr. Scholl is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, running, baking, playing piano, and exploring new restaurants with his partner, David.
