WHY WINTER IS THE BEST TIME FOR SKIN LASER TREATMENT?

No winter blues here, just glowing winter skin! Why? Laser treatments!

Laser treatments are a great way to rejuvenate your skin. These treatments can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, eliminate blemishes and rosacea, get rid of acne scars and dark spots, and create a more even, youthful complexion. Laser treatments are recommended for the wintertime due to many benefits:

#1 You Can Stay out of the Sun

Let’s face it; you’re more inclined to stay inside in the winter than in the summer. After laser treatment, it’s critical to keep out of the sun. Sun exposure can damage your skin, and the potential for damage is more significant following a laser skin treatment. After the treatment, your skin will be sensitive, making your skin more susceptible to the harsh UV rays, which won’t agree with your newly rejuvenated complexion. For this reason, we recommend laser treatments in the winter because you can stay indoors on the days that follow your procedure to ensure that the sun doesn’t reach you.

#2 Better Healing Environment

Because some patients may experience some slight sensitivity in the laser-treated area, the cooler temperatures of the winter months can provide a comfortable environment for healing. In contrast, the warmth of the summer months can amplify that irritation with sweat.

#3 Tanned Skin Doesn’t Respond as Well to the Lasers

Everyone loves a sun-kissed tan, but not lasers! Tanned skin doesn’t respond to lasers well because the lasers target pigmented areas like brown spots, acne scars, etc. When those areas blend in with the rest of your skin, the laser has difficulty differentiating between healthy skin and scarred or discolored skin. If you’re tanned, the laser will focus on the wrong spots, and your skin could become irritated or hyperpigmented.

#4 Give Your Skin a Hydrating Boost

The winter makes our skin dry. Cold air, dry indoor heat, low humidity levels, and harsh winter wind can all zap your skin with moisture. When you undergo a laser skin treatment in the winter, your skin gets a boost of hydration. Laser treatments stimulate circulation, exfoliate the skin, promote collagen production, and give your skin a youthful glow.
