Dr. Mizes is a compassionate provider with an interest in medical and procedural dermatology and cares deeply about patient education and personalized care. She believes that the best medical decisions are made through collaboration and strives to create an environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered. She enjoys caring for patients of all backgrounds and identities, and has been an advocate for LGBTQIA+ patients throughout her training and practice.

Dr. Mizes completed her undergraduate studies at Pomona College in Claremont, California, where she graduated Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in neuroscience and a minor in religious studies. After graduating, she participated in a postbaccalaureate research fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, where she conducted skin cancer research. She received her medical doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and graduated from the Physician Scientist Training Program, where she conducted additional research focused on skin cancer and ultraviolet radiation. She completed her internship year at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, followed by her dermatology residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Throughout her training, Dr. Mizes has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented at national conferences. She enjoys volunteering through community outreach presentations and free skin cancer screenings, and during residency she distributed free sunscreen and permanent dispensers and participated in free dermatology clinics.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Mizes is an avid distance runner and has completed six marathons, including two Boston Marathons. She also enjoys rock climbing and training in circus arts, and has performed routines on the trapeze, lyra, and aerial cube. She loves traveling the world and exploring the Bay Area, and always appreciates any recommendations her patients have!
